Document Preparation & Cargo Handover
Before export, the shipper provides key documents—including a packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, and customs declaration form. Customs authorities then inspect the cargo to verify quantity, quality, and compliance with declared information. Once cleared, goods are moved to the port or freight station for international dispatch.
Export Customs Declaration
All goods leaving the country must undergo export customs clearance. This process requires submission of documentation to customs authorities by a licensed entity—such as a freight forwarder, appointed agent, or customs broker. Freightshop, as a licensed freight forwarder, can file the export declaration on your behalf and coordinate closely with customs to ensure smooth approval.
Import Customs Clearance
Import clearance is typically handled by the international freight forwarder or a customs broker appointed by the consignee. The process can begin before the cargo arrives in the destination country and must be completed before goods are released from the port or airport.
Arrival at Destination Warehouse
Upon arrival, cargo is unloaded at the destination port, airport, or rail terminal and transferred to a local warehouse or distribution center—ready for final delivery.
Final Delivery
The shipment concludes with last-mile delivery to the consignee, carried out either by the international freight forwarder or a local transport provider designated by the consignee.
